Fern Arable a young farm girl with a warm heart, determination, and a vivid imagination; she forms a life-saving bond with Wilbur, the runt of the litter 10-12 year-old female
John Arable

Fern’s father; a tough-skinned farmer, but a loving family man

Martha Arable Fern’s mother; a good, caring and protective wife and mother adult female
Avery Arable Fern’s brother; a lively youth who likes to clown around; a handful, but not

Homer Zuckerman Fern’s uncle; a kind-hearted farmer who agrees to take Wilbur in and give him a home adult male
Edith Zuckerman Fern’s aunt; kindly and something of a character; she likes to cook
